On the modern web, we almost take a well designed RESTful JSON-based API for granted. But what actually goes into designing a good API? Is it really just one simple formula or are all APIs not created equal? Following is some of the thoughts and considerations we went thru, designing the new Iconfinder API.
Icons keep growing in details as they are increasingly used a illustrations on landing pages. The outlined style is everywhere and luckily allows designers to get creative. We also stumbled upon a bunch of highly detailed app icons. Even though this style isn’t “trendy” they are candy for the eye. Enjoy!
Today we are introducing a major update to the Iconfinder API. Completely rewritten from scratch, the Iconfinder API version 2.0 is the perfect foundation for the next generation of design tools and partnerships.
This week we have found an amazing gauge icon by Ramotion including their sketches for the icon (photo above). There are some beautiful icons of famous landmarks, outlined tattoo-inspired icons and a t-shirt by Michael Flarup. Enjoy!
Every day we see you and your fellow designers create amazing work with icons from Iconfinder. To celebrate the work you do, we have decided to award the top talent with some fine prizes and some good exposure. This is a chance for you as a designer to showcase your skills and win awesome prizes.
