Posting shots of icons on Dribbble? If you are a Dribbble Pro user, you can add a direct purchase link leading to Iconfinder marketplace.
Not so long ago we have made a purchase link to Iconfinder available on Dribbble. The link takes seconds to add and brings the audience directly to the icon or icon set on Iconfinder marketplace.
Listing your icon for sale this way also gives it some extra exposure, as the shot appears on Dribbble’s “Goods for sale” page.
Note that you have to be a Pro user on Dribbble to have an option to sell your goods.
How to add the purchase link
When you upload an image on Dribbble, in the editing panel you can find a For sale? button.
Clicking the button opens a window where you have to fill out the details about your item.
Add the title of your icon or icon set, insert the price you sell it for on Iconfinder, and choose the Icons category.
When it comes to inserting the URL from Iconfinder – don’t rush just copy-pasting it. Adding your username at the end of any URL from Iconfinder will make it part of our referral program, which lets you earn money and also gives a discount for the new users. Simply add ?ref=username (using your own username) at the end of the link and you are ready to go. You can read more about our referral program in this blog post we published a couple of weeks ago. By the way, you can use referral links every time you share content from Iconfinder, no matter the platform.
So here is an example of a filled-out window:
Now click the Create a good for sale button, fill out the rest of the shot details and you’re done. Here is an example of how the purchase link looks in the shot page (what a lovely icon, Scott):
